4:30 daddy 😋 I wish susan had fall in love with Terry, come on girl, he was everything! I wasn't born yet but, if I was there he would be mine.
They should have professionally filmed the full show with Terrence Mann for release, it's so infuriating. Also screw the insufferable naysayers, this man is so freaking amazing and he deserved much better. Such an incredibly talented underrated actor. Musical theatre is very antiWhite men, I despise this industry.
I wish susan had fall in love with Terry 😢 come on girl, he was everything. she was so lucky, I'd do anything to work with him. I wasn't born yet but oh if I was in her place...
1:00 1:02 the blonde girl looking at Terry is so relatable lol. I'd do anything to be in Susan's place back then :'(
The way Gary Beach loved to play lumiere always makes me emotional
Terrence Mann... Such an underrated actor
There should have been a professional recording of this show with Terrence Mann. They already had the cameramen there for the press reels, why not record the entire show and release later as a dvd and now on streaming? It's so infuriating
I find hilarious that all these arrogant people were shocked about BATB being on broadway whereas nowadays any stupid movie gets a musical version
They should have professionally filmed the full production with Terry and the og cast. It's such a crime that they didn't :'(
Such an underrated actor, I despise this industry. They should have professionally filmed and released the full show with Terrence Mann. it's such a crime, he is THE BEST.
Watching again
Tommy De Simone a good family man? 🤣
The accent 😢
Gourdeous 0:18
It's things like this that make me wish they recorded more performances. I'd love to have seen this all the way through! ♥ Terrence Mann is so good
He is such an underrated actor but so are many, like Harry Groener. Broadway and it's audience hate White men. I so wish I could have seen them, most of the plays they did were before I was born
@@saxongirl2054 I think youtube ate my previous reply, but...what are you talking about? 🤣 Hollywood loves a white man. Too much. It's run by white men. It's why getting decent representation for all the rest of us has been such a slog and why people, well-meaning I'm sure, are so hateful when we talk about it.
I saw this in Ottawa, Ont. at the National Arts Centre. This was the song that opened the evening (after an Overture). What a way to start a concert!
“How long did it take to take the costume off?” Terrence: 7 minutes
Year after year I have to say this is the best Disney has ever done. Even if they dismissed for the awful live film, this song is everything is powerful and emotional and a whole climax.
I much rather have Terrence Mann over anyone else. What Disney should have done was a professional video recording of the original cast for release like Into The Woods did.
Edward Woodward had such amazing and beautiful singing voice also he was amazing actor who sings this song in this episode
3:50 HER FACIAL EXPRESSIONS ARE EVERYTHING
The score in this scene is so underrated for how beautiful and unsettling it is how much it adds to this scene
if i saw this live i would literally cry, god i love this musical
Patina is extremely talented, but something is missing. I'm not getting the build up of sheer panic in the leading player "failing" to get Pippin to follow the LP's demands. She's coming across as just pissed. Ben Vereen's chilling portrayal was a master class of sinister manipulation and deception, and ultimately, failure.
Doing this musical for my highschool and I haven't had the chance to actually view the ending (we're far from over with the rehearsals) and I got actual goosebumps watching this. I read it all in the libretto I just never got the chance to truly view it until now.
Thank you Terrence Mann for performing both Javert and Chauvelin(scarlet pimpernel)
This is the definitive version of this song for me, the 2004 version feels too campy and less darkly sardonic
We are doing this production later this year for one of our three high school productions per school year. Since there is no broadway version this helps us out a lot. Many thanks for posting this!
I have to say, as a recent and enthusiastic Terry Mann appreciator, I'm so grateful for every bit of media you've uploaded and shared! Especially the highlights (lol) of this film as it seems entirely unavailable anywhere else now. I know my friends and I have had a lot of fun watching this video amongst the others. Love and respect!
Ha ha! Welcome to the Terry Mann appreciators.
Wow that dr Scott is on fire!!
In the two versions I've seen(film version and a magnificent performance by a local high school drama club), the actual ending of the show was Pippin , Catherine, and the boy standing on the stage; Catherine asks Pippin how he felt at that moment Pippin looked at the audience, paused for a moment, then said "TRAPPED!" All three threw up their hands, and said "TAH-DAA!" And the show was over
Actually he says "trapped........but happy"....then all three say "TADAA"
If no one else is going to say it I will... Rocky's ass. That's all.
The Manson trio has always been the most memorable part of Pippin!
And Kevin Cahoon from Shucked etc is in this.
This video is very old..but i got into the scarlet pimpernel a few months ago,i really love this man,his voice is so good 😭💓
I don't think this guy knows anything about Eddie. He doesn't like Rock & Roll. He's more into Pop/Indie Pop. And he also would rather be called "Ed".
I don't know when I thought about this, but does this intentionally have references to Elton John's hit Saturday Night's Alright for Fighting? A couple of the sounds that I really like Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike
Does anyone know who the piano player is? They’re so consistently good through out
I've never heard this song before....really nice! Fantastic , Andrea.
I'm looking for the conversation piece video for this! same people in it but they go into other details about the play, it used to be on youtube and I can't find it now..
nederlands
Where is the full show?
I mean in this convo
i think this is it ua-cam.com/video/hrK6mDjMYRY/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared
Many thanks! I’m teaching the music to our HS drama club for our upcoming performance of FC and this was what I played for them since there is no Broadway recording! Incredibly helpful!
Rip john
That’s a great Rocky. Good voice and build. It’s a hard role to cast.
This makes me realize we have not gotten enough McArdle in our lives. Such a phenomenal voice and truly a fantastic actress
My favorite show in the 80's. It motivated me to pursue intelligence in the Army. It wasn't even close. Much more dangerous.
do you have the full show???
First Tom Ellis now this guy....
This is a nice show but I prefer the 1973 finale. Pippin (and anyone else) will never be totally happy whatever he does. So pick a lane and do your best with what you have. "Nothing ever turns out the way you hoped"
That entrance is just amazing! For the first five minutes of this video you're watching people perform Les Mis on Broadway - then Terrence Mann shows up and you are watching Javert on the streets of 19th-century Paris. He completely embodies the role and it's a little bit terrifying.
